From Leaders’ Growth

to Organizational Potential

Executive coaching for presidents,

general managers, country managers,

and senior leaders in Japan

Executive coaching grounded in the practical demands of leading a business

Leader Insight Partners works primarily with top leaders and senior executives of multinational companies (MNCs) in Japan.

What effective leadership looks like is not fixed. It shifts with the stage of the business, the state of the organization, relationships with team members, and the challenges at hand.

We help leaders re-examine their perspectives and assumptions and adapt their actions accordingly.

As their behavior shifts, their relationships and the way their teams engage in dialogue and make decisions can shift as well. The impact can extend across the wider organization.

APPROACH

Leader Insight Partnersのコーチングは、現実の経営・組織課題を題材にします。新しい見方や行動を試し、その影響から学ぶ。その実践と振り返りを重ねながら、リーダーが自らのリーダーシップを形作っていくことを支えます。

Leading a business also calls a leader’s own perspective into question

Business leaders often have to make judgments while balancing competing demands: the expectations of global headquarters and the realities of the Japanese market; short-term results and longer-term organizational development; and providing direction and enabling others to take greater ownership.

Some challenges cannot be addressed through knowledge and skills alone.

In a new situation, the perspectives and behaviors that drove past success can begin to narrow the choices available.

  • Are the assumptions I take for granted still valid?

  • How are my own words and actions influencing the way others think and how the organization operates?

The more senior a leader becomes, the fewer opportunities they may have to explore such questions openly, without the constraints of internal interests and expectations.

Leader Insight Partners offers a space for dialogue where leaders can step back and re-examine their perspectives, assumptions, and impact on others. From there, they can choose their next step.

STRENGTHS

An understanding of business realities, combined with professional coaching expertise

Understanding from executive experience

For around 12 years, Yasushi Michiuchi led the Japan operations of MNCs. That experience gives him a firsthand understanding of the complexity leaders face, including relationships with global headquarters, responsibility for business performance, and the dynamics of the leadership team. He brings that understanding into every coaching conversation.

Coaching based on professional training

As an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC), he provides coaching based on systematic professional training. His executive experience provides valuable context, but his coaching focuses on helping leaders think for themselves and make their own choices. When his own perspective may be useful, he offers it as input, clearly distinguishing it from coaching.

Candid dialogue built on confidentiality

Leader Insight Partners provides a space where leaders can speak openly about issues that may be difficult to discuss inside the organization. In company-sponsored coaching engagements, the scope of information shared with the company or sponsor is agreed in advance with the leader. The content of individual coaching sessions is not shared with the company or sponsor without the leader’s explicit consent.

A message from the founder

A space for leaders to think freely, beyond the demands of their roles

When I first became head of the Japan operation of a multinational company, I was constantly looking for the “right answer.” I believed it was my job to provide the answers. Looking back, I think that mindset left less room for others to think for themselves.

Later, while still leading a Japan operation, I had the opportunity to receive coaching myself. I discovered that, even after years of experience, questions and dialogue could change how I saw a situation.

I wanted to create a space where leaders responsible for a business could step back from the immediate demands and expectations of their roles, think freely, and find their own answers. That is where Leader Insight Partners began.
